Bread Pudding

Quick and simple. Rumour has it that crème brûlée dishes will work better but I did this in a 9x13 baking dish without consequence.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and get out the baking dish.

Tear the croissants into 1-inch pieces and arrange half of them in the dish. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Arrange the remaining pieces on top.

Aside: This sort of reminds be of making nachos for some reason. In university, one of the potheads caught my roommate and I making nachos without layering the chips and cheese. “Dude’s, making nachos without layers is like building a hotel without rooms!”

In a bowl, whisk together the egg, egg yolk, sugar, and cream. Pour over the croissants. Sprinkle on the butter pieces. I imagine you can toss them on but I try to give every part of the dish some butter lovin’.

Bake the dish for 15 minutes or until the mixture sets.

Aside: How do you know it’s set? It’s kind of hard to describe so I won’t bother. If you cook enough, you’ll know. If not, get someone who does cook to take a look.
